Class Information
Class Description/Goals
The goal of this class is for students to learn about the physical and human systems that make up our planet. We cover a broad range of information in this class from how mountains are formed to governments in our world. The goal is for students to have a broad level of knowledge about the world we live in.
Classroom Rules/Policies
Expectations - My expectation for students is to be prepared for class when the bell rings. Students should have work completed that was assigned, supplies for class and be prepared to learn. Students need to have respect for one another and for other teachers/staff in the building while they are in my classroom.
Late Work - In order for all students to get the most out of class, student work needs to be completed in a reasonable time frame. Work that is not turned in during that class period that it is due will be considered late and will be added to the grade book when I have a chance to grade it. Work with no name on it will be considered late because I cannot match the work to the student. If an assignment is over a week late a 10% penalty on that assignment may be enacted.
Absences - If a student knows they are going to be absent from class it is their responsibility to get their work before they leave and it will be due on the day they return to class, this includes school sponsored events. If a student is absent for an unexpected reason they need to come and see Mr. Haar to get their late work the day they return to class.
Cell Phone/Electronic Devices - Students will not be allowed to use a cell phone, smartwatch, Bluetooth headphones or any other electronic device that is not their school issued Chromebook in my class. If a student is in my classroom using these devices I will confiscate them and turn them over to the office along with an office referral. The use of these devices is distracting for not only the student using it, but also students around them.
Chromebook - Students have been issued a functioning Chromebook at the beginning of the year and I plan for them to have one through the year. Students need to do their best to come to school with their Chromebook charged and operational. If it is not charged or operational it may result in a behavior referral in class.

- Please Email or leave a comment on Google Classroom when you turn something in late. If you do not notify me I may not know you turned it in and it will not get graded.
